Training: James had his first national break on the BBC’s Fame Academy, coming fifth. He then represented the UK at The Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 (with a television audience of over 300 million). Signing to Sony Music that year, his debut single ‘Hold on to Our Love’ reached number 13 in the UK singles chart and was followed by another Top 20 hit four years later.
Theatre includes: Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar (UK tour). Soon after that he landed his dream role as the Piano Man in the Billy Joel musical Movin’ Out (Broadway, West End and North American tour). Having just played the role of the American in the UK, European and Canadian tour of the musical Chess, James is recording his follow-up album of new material, including a collaboration with Sir Tim Rice for 2012’s official Poppy Appeal single, ‘Landlocked’.
Other work includes: James has twice had the honour of performing in front of Her Majesty The Queen at the Royal Albert Hall for The Festival of Remembrance, in recognition of his entertaining the British Armed Forces worldwide for CSE Forces Entertainment for over a decade. He has supported Natasha Bedingfield, Lulu, Wet Wet Wet, Tina Turner and Will Young, as well as duetted with Katherine Jenkins. As a lifelong Beatles fan, James is honoured to be part Let It Be and would like to thank his girlfriend Kate, Mum and Peter, Dean and Liz, Alastair and Helen at Curtis Brown for their support.
