Iain Hornal

Training: Iain Hornal is a singer-songwriter and session musician. He read philosophy at King’s College London during which he performed various times at The Greenwood Theatre as Arvide in Guys and Dolls, Roger in Grease, Gangster no1 in Kiss Me Kate and as musical director for Into The Woods. Another extra-curricular experience at this time was something of a training ground for his current role - schooled and encouraged by long-term Lennon soundalike Martin Reynolds, he had a stint performing with ‘Beatlestributeband.co.uk’ and ‘The Fab 2’, for which he would like to thank Martin.

Performances include: session work for The Feeling, supports slots at Hammersmith Apollo and Birmingham NEC with Nelly Furtado, and a tour culminating with a show at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire with rockabilly outfit Sinead and The Dawnbreakers. Iain is also a founder member and co-manager of some of the UK’s best loved function/party bands including The Bright Sparks and The 101s. His songwriting credits include: Sophie Ellis-Bextor and The Feeling.

A life-long Beatles fan, and particularly taken by the songwriting and production ethos present on albums such as Revolver and Abbey Road, The Fab Four’s influence is apparent in his own work. Iain is currently recording new material with Hertfordshire-based collective The Hornal Family, visit his website for updates and release dates.

Favourite Beatles song: ‘The Long and Winding Road’.
